The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed, at its seventy second session in December 2017, the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030).

This Decade will provide a common framework to ensure that ocean science can fully support countries in the achievement of the 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals.
