Rooted in the outcomes of its Vision 2030 process, the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021-2030 launched the Call for Decade Actions No. 08/2024.
The priority themes for this Call are:
- Coastal resilience
- Society’s relationship with the ocean
- The ocean-human health nexus
The launch of the Call coincides with the release of the flagship report “Ambition, Action, Impact: The Ocean Decade Pathway to 2030. Consolidated Outcomes of the Vision 2030 Process”. This strategic roadmap outlines key priorities in science, knowledge, capacity, resources, and infrastructure needed to address the ten Ocean Decade Challenges. Drawing from these findings, the current Call targets specific needs and priority action areas to mobilize new initiatives and reinforce existing Decade Actions and coordination structures, ensuring sustained progress toward the Decade’s ambitious goals.
Call for CHFP Ocean Decade Endorsement
The Cultural Heritage Framework Programme (CHFP) invites initiatives focusing on marine cultural heritage to seek endorsement as part of their mission to foster sustainable ocean practices. As the only UN Ocean Decade programme specifically dedicated to cultural heritage, CHFP provides a unique platform for projects that explore past and present human-ocean interactions, helping us achieve the ocean we want.
Visit CHFP: Call for CHFP Ocean Decade Endorsement to learn about endorsement criteria, reasons for getting endorsed, and details on how to submit a request for endorsement.
