
PANAF 2026: Discovering African Archaeology and Heritage Without Borders
The 17th Congress of the Pan African Archaeological Association for Prehistory and Related Studies, PANAF 2026, will take place from 26 to 31 July 2026 in Maputo, Mozambique, hosted by the Department of Archaeology & Anthropology at Eduardo Mondlane University.
PANAF brings together archaeologists, heritage practitioners, anthropologists, historians, and scholars from related disciplines to explore new approaches to researching, preserving, and sharing Africa’s past across linguistic, cultural, and national boundaries.
The theme of the conference is Discovering African Archaeology and Heritage Without Borders.
