OPI XI: Ocean-connected communities

The Oceans Past Initiative (OPI) is pleased to annouce that Oceans Past XI, themed Ocean-connected communities: historical perspectives inform modern relationships, will be held from 15–19 June 2026. The conference will take place at the University of Victoria, Vancouver Island, Canada, and will be hosted by Professors Jason Colby, Loren McClenachan and Iain McKechnie.
Important dates
Abstract submissions will open in early Autumn 2025, with decisions expected in January 2026. Further details will be made available on the OPI website and social media channels from September.
