OPI XI: Ocean-connected communities
The Oceans Past Initiative (OPI) is pleased to annouce that Oceans Past XI, themed Ocean-connected communities: historical perspectives inform modern relationships, will be held from 15–19 June 2026. The conference will take place at the University of Victoria, Vancouver Island, Canada, with support from the Faculties of Social Science and Humanities, the School Environmental Studies, the Departments of History and Anthropology, the Oceans Past Initiative, the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea, and the Scripps Center for Marine Archaeology. The conference theme is Ocean Connected Communities.
Call for Papers open
