<p><!-- wp:paragraph --></p> <p>The Oceans Past Initiative (OPI) is pleased to annouce that <strong>Oceans Past XI</strong>, themed <em>Ocean-connected communities: historical perspectives inform modern relationships</em>, will be held from <strong>15–19 June 2026</strong>. The conference will take place at the University of Victoria, Vancouver Island, Canada, with support from the Faculties of Social Science and Humanities, the <a class="" href="https://www.uvic.ca/socialsciences/environmental/index.php" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">School Environmental Studies</a>, the Departments of <a class="" href="https://www.uvic.ca/humanities/history/index.php" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">History</a> and <a class="" href="https://www.uvic.ca/socialsciences/anthropology/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Anthropology</a>, the <a class="" href="https://oceanspast.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oceans Past Initiative</a>, the <a class="" href="https://www.ices.dk/Pages/default.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">International Council for the Exploration of the Sea</a>, and the <a class="" href="https://scma.ucsd.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Scripps Center for Marine Archaeology.</a> The conference theme is Ocean Connected Communities.</p> <p><!-- /wp:paragraph --></p> <p><!-- wp:heading --></p> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Call for Papers open</h2> <p><!-- /wp:heading --></p> <p><!-- wp:paragraph --></p> <p>The Call for Papers for oral or poster presentations is now open.
