<p>The <a href="https://isbsa.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">17<sup>th</sup> International Symposium on Boat and Ship Archaeology (ISBSA 17)</a> will be held at <a href="https://mann-napoli.it/en/home-english/">the National Archaeological Museum</a> in Naples, Italy, from the <strong>21<sup>st</sup> to the 26<sup>th</sup> of October 2024</strong>.</p>

<p>The conference is organised as a collaborative effort of <a href="https://www.unior.it/en" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">the University of Naples “L’Orientale”</a>, <a href="https://www.ismeo.eu/about-ismeo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ISMEO—The International Association for Mediterranean and Oriental Studies</a> and <a href="https://www.patrimoniosubacqueo.it/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">the National Superintendency for the Underwater Cultural Heritage</a>.</p>

<p>The call for submissions of papers and posters for the ISBSA 17 is now open.</p>

<p>The main theme of the 17<sup>th</sup> ISBSA will be <strong>State and private shipbuilding through the ages</strong>.</p>

<p>The main session of the seventeenth International Symposium on Boat and Ship Archaeology intends to explore the theme of state and private shipbuilding within various technical traditions, without chronological or geographical limitation.</p>
