IACA 30th Congress: August 13-17, 2024

The island of Nevis, part of the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis, will play host to the International Association for Caribbean Archaeology’s 30th bi-annual Congress. The Main venue for the Congress will be the Nevis Performing Arts Center (NePAC) in Charlestown. The IACA Congress brings together scholars, students, heritage managers, community members and the public from across the region, North America and Europe. The aim of the Congress will be both the scientific presentation of recent and ground-breaking research, as well as exploring and celebrating the archaeological heritage of the Caribbean generally, and of St. Kitts & Nevis in particular.

IACA 30th Congress Theme

The theme for this Congress, The Many Faces Shaping Caribbean Archaeology, will offer participants, Nevisians and Kittitians, and the wider public the opportunity to learn about the diversity of people, cultures and places that have contributed to the land and underwater archaeological heritage of this region, and the diversity of people and communities that work to document and conserve that heritage today.

Call for Papers

IACA has extended the deadline for paper submissions to July 4th, 2024. Be sure to submit a paper abstract by that date to be able to present at the IACA Congress in August! Please see the conference website for details.
