Conservation and restoration in underwater archaeology: experiences, methods and new discoveries.

The conference will be a venue for national, regional and international conservators and scientists to highlight relevant case studies in the conservation of underwater archaeological finds, application of new materials and technologies for conservation practice as well as tools for analysis and documentation.

The main purpose of the Conference is to bring the importance of protecting and preserving the underwater cultural heritage closer to people as well as to engage the younger generation in the care of cultural heritage.

The Conference is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia.

The conference will consider following topics:

• In situ preservation of underwater archaeological materials and sites

• Conservation case studies

• Application of new materials and technologies for conservation practice and continued review of established methods

The Conference is open to the public and no fees will be charged.
